(Lexile: BR70L–300L | Fountas & Pinnell: A–D | DRA: 1–6)

  • Builds confidence with advanced sentence structures, phonics, and sight words.
  • Simple fiction and nonfiction with cause/effect and early comprehension skills.
  • Format: 16–20 pages, 3–5 sentences per page, engaging illustrations that complement the text.

(Lexile: 300L–600L | Fountas & Pinnell: E–K | DRA: 8–18)

  • Encourages independent reading with more developed narratives and thought-provoking questions.
  • Introduces figurative language, dialogue, and mini-chapters.
  • Format: 24–32 pages, 5–7 sentences per page, less reliance on illustrations.

Sprouts Trailblazers (Lexile: 600L–900L | Fountas & Pinnell: L–P | DRA: 20–34)

  • Fosters a love for reading with deeper stories, nonfiction topics, and problem-solving themes.
  • Strengthens comprehension with character growth, moral lessons, and real-world connections.
  • Format: 32–48 pages, paragraph-based text, multi-chapter structure with fiction and nonfiction.
